What makes M Court unique?

Founded in 2015

M Court was formally registered as a tour operator in 2015 but started operations in 2017 after feasibility studies were concluded.

100% youth-owned

M Court is 100% owned and operated by siblings Semakaleng (29) and Mmakgomo Mothapo (24) who bring youthful energy & innovation to the business.

Level 1 BBBEE status

M Court is a Level 1 BBBEE company formed for the purposes of owning income-producing, high quality tourism venues and activities  in SADC townships.

Proudly Bela-Bela township

Founded and still being operated in the Bela-Bela township. It is what gives M Court the distinct advantage to give tourists an authentic feel of the Bela-Bela township.

+8 youth empowered

To help in creating tourism jobs in the township, M Court currently employs eight (8) young people on a permanent basis.

Development is our passion

M Court has a community development arm which is geared towards developing the skills in the youth of Bela-Bela.

About Bela-Bela

The semi-rural Bela-Bela township with predictable disparity and a reflection of South Africa’s unjust history formed the basis for the establishment of the enterprise. Bela-Bela has always been a tourist destination since the 1800’s and the focus point of tourism in the area is eco-tourism, the Waterburg mountains and mineral springs, the owners of M Court saw a gap in the market where points of interests and stories of black people were overlooked. This is what M Court’s business is based on — the township/ “kasi” tourism.

About M Court

M Court is derived from the surname of the enterprise owners – Mothapo. The partnership between Mmakgomo and  Semakaleng was deliberately engaged into because it was Semakaleng’s contribution towards empowering SA women. The company also operates from Bela-Bela township, Limpopo Province, which is a tourist destination area of choice. The company currently operating on a small scale, but intends to expand its operations in line with its growth achievements.
